Tata shows its colours again
Lost my wireless modem. Called Tata and blocked the account. Luckily, found it before spending a huge chunk of money to replace it.

Called Tata hoping to unblock the account, which should involve setting a checkbox and saying 'go'. But not on Tata's customer management systems.

They inform me that I HAVE to go to a store and BUY a new sim card - Inconvenience & Cost thrust upon a customer.

Steers me away from any Tata service or product in the future!.

An update: Tata cust svc folks were quick to respond, and correct
the situation. Apparently, the systems can handle it, but the rep
was misinformed. They've reactivated the SIM card, without me making
a trip to their store. Heartening.
